About The Chicago Black Professionals Social Network

The Chicago Black Professionals Meetup is a group primarily made up of men and women here in the Chicago area whom share an ethnic heritage rooted in the African diaspora. We come from broadly diverse educational, professional, and social backgrounds, but we have a common interest: to come together for social networking. We strive to promote social and professional connections between our members, and to increase the free exchange of information and ideas between the members of the group that will enrich their lives.

We have 2 levels of memberships available:

Standard: this membership is free. All a Standard membership requires is to read the message base or calendar at least once every 90 days. Non-profit organizations with federal tax-exempt credentials also qualify for Standard membership.

Advertiser: this membership is $100/year. Placing an advertisement for a business you have a direct financial interest in on the message bases makes you an advertiser. Placing a message about a service you deliver for money makes you an advertiser. Placing a link in a message about a service you deliver for money makes you an advertiser. Uploading a file about a service/product you deliver for money makes you an advertiser. Placing information in your membership profile about a service or product you have a financial interest in does *not* make you an advertiser. Placing your business logo/icon as your photo also does not make you an advertiser. Each Advertiser membership is responsible for paying its own fees (ie, no group memberships). PayPal is available for submitting this fee, as is getting me a check at an event. Fees must be paid and acknowledged by me via email prior to an advertisement being posted. Once your Advertiser membership has been confirmed, you may post one (1) advertisement per month.

Any postings that fit the Advertiser criteria above without paying the Advertiser membership fee will be subject to the following:

1st time - Message deleted, first warning email
2nd time - Message deleted, final warning email
3rd time - Message deleted, membership deleted. Only email sent will be the removal notification
